Twitter’s new owner Elon Musk strikes a pose at the 2022 Met Gala with his mother Maye

New Delhi: You’re here CEO and now owner of Twitter Elon Musk made a grand entrance at Met Gala 2022 in his first public appearance since taking over the microblogging site, accompanied by his model mother maye musk.

A reporter asked the world’s richest man why he would take time out for the Met Gala, which Musk replied, “My mother wanted to come, so I brought my mother. That’s the reason.”

Musk appeared dressed in his best bib and tucker as he donned a classic black tuxedo, while his mother dolled up in a Dior velvet dress which she accessorized with a tiered pearl necklace. The billionaire also showcased his funky style by doing goofy poses for photographers.

Meanwhile, he also talked about the vision for his latest acquisition – Twitter. “My goal would be to make Twitter as inclusive as possible,” Musk told Vogue livestream host LaLa Anthony. Musk added that he hopes people find the social media platform “interesting, entertaining and fun. And that it makes their lives better.”

The Tesla boss added that he would make the microblogging site transparent about how tweets are promoted or demoted. Asked about a possible exodus of employees, he said: “It’s a free country.”

“Certainly, if someone doesn’t feel comfortable with that, they’ll go somewhere else on their own. That’s fine,” Musk said.

Musk-Twitter offer

On April 4, the participation of the world’s richest man in the microblogging site became public. He was offered a seat on the board of directors, which he declined on April 9. Five days later, on April 14, the Tesla boss offered to buy Twitter for $43 billion in cash and take it private. The “best and last” offer was $54.20 per share.
