GALION – The town of Galion, in collaboration with the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT), has scheduled a public meeting regarding the State Route 598 widening project.

The meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Monday, October 4 at Grace Point Church, 683 Portland Way North. The meeting will be held at the church’s Christian Life Center.

The section of road from Carter Drive up to 600 feet north of Brandt Road will be widened. The Ohio Department of Transportation is in charge of the estimated $ 4.5 million project. The project will include a new ditch, storm sewer replacement, main water main work, modifications to traffic lights, reconfigured signage and road markings.

The goal is to inform residents and businesses in the project area of ​​construction dates, what to expect during the project, and to answer any questions or concerns.

The meeting is open to residents, business representatives, the media and interested persons who want details on the project. It will also be videotaped for those who cannot attend.
