Opened in 1971, Walt Disney World is currently in the midst of the world’s most magical celebration. The 50th anniversary event saw many new experiences enter the Disney Parks; Disney Enchantment debuted above Cinderella’s Castle, while Harmonius and Disney KiteTails took to the waters at EPCOT’s World Showcase and Disney’s Animal Kingdom, respectively. Not only were new shows launched in the parks, but Mickey and Minnie could be seen in new EARidescent costumes, and the Emporium was filled with fresh, sparkly merchandise. Although the latter caused fights on the Main Street site in the United States, the 50th anniversary was generally well received.

Some visitors, however, feel that Disney CEO Bob Chapek is changing the parks too much, implementing the paid Disney Genie+ service, part of Disney Genie, replacing the old FastPass+ system. free. This was then inflated by other announcements such as news from the latest Disney Earnings call which saw chief financial officer Christine McCarthy say portion sizes in food and drink would be reduced. It’s safe to say that every new day brings something new to Disney, and now it looks like the Fantasyland area of Magic Kingdom park will be undergoing some physical changes in the near future.

In the permits filed here, here, and here, it can be seen that the construction will be done on Magic Kingdom Drive by New Horizon Construction Services. While it is impossible to determine if or which attractions or venues are affected, many locations use this address, namely Gaston’s Tavern and Be Our Guest restaurants.

Crowds have been heavy at the Magic Kingdom recently with Lightning Lane lines stretching across the park, so it’s likely these building permits are for minor tweaks, or just to spruce up the ongoing 50th anniversary celebrations.
