Saint-Gobain acquires a manufacturer of exterior building materials

Saint-Gobain has completed the acquisition of Kaycan, a manufacturer and distributor of outdoor building materials in Canada and the United States

The acquisition of Kaycan, a manufacturer and distributor of outdoor building materials, was finalized on July 29, 2022 and strengthens Saint-Gobain as a world leader in lightweight and durable construction.

Kaycan joins the local North American construction company, within the Americas region.

Kaycan will close in the third quarter of 2022

As part of this acquisition, the divestiture of Kaycan’s small US distribution business is progressing well and is expected to close in the third quarter of 2022.

The EBITDA multiple of approximately 8x after synergies and sale of US distribution is confirmed.

The acquisition will expand Saint-Gobain’s vinyl offering in the United States

This acquisition positions Saint-Gobain as a leading siding player in Canada, expanding its vinyl offering across the United States with complementary aluminum and engineered wood solutions.

Saint-Gobain aims for carbon neutrality by 2050
