Greater Portland Board of Realtors hires Kris Dorer as CEO

NEW EMPLOYEES

Rosanne Wess

The MEMIC group has hired Rosanne Wess to its loss control team as a safety management consultant.
Wess brings nearly a decade of occupational safety and health experience, with specialist skills in the construction, manufacturing and healthcare sectors.
Wess previously worked for Maine’s only Level 1 Trauma Center as an Occupational Safety Industrial Hygienist, managing the COVID-19 response and construction safety oversight.

Kris Dorer

Kris Dorer of Scarborough has joined the Greater Portland Board of Realtors as Managing Director. Dorer, of Scarborough, brings over 30 years of experience managing associations and not-for-profit organizations. Dorer will represent the more than 1,800 council members in 15 cities across the region.

Elisabeth Fontugne joined the law firm Petruccelli, Martin & Haddow. Fontugne previously worked as a trial attorney for Cole, Scott & Kissane, PA in Tampa, Florida. Over the past six years, she has successfully defended hundreds of cases, ranging from nursing home negligence cases to claims filed under the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Sevee & Maher Engineers has announced two new recruits.

Thomas Neilson

Thomas Neilson joined the company as a senior geologist. Neilson brings over 10 years of experience performing geological and hydrogeological assessments for potable water supply, environmental site investigation and site remediation projects.

Pierre Mohlin

Pierre Mohlin was hired as an environmental compliance specialist. Mohlin is a project manager with over 12 years of diverse experience in civil engineering, environmental regulatory compliance, reporting, permits, licensing, remediation, and human health and safety.

PROMOTIONS

bill martel

Camden National Bank promoted William “Bill” Martel to the Executive Chairman, Chief Technology Officer. Martel has been part of the leadership team since 2020 as Executive Vice President of Technology and Support Services. Martel was previously head of US technology operations for Santander US in Boston.

Skowhegan Savings announced the promotion of Amanda Bell community banker based in Dexter. Bell has over 20 years of banking experience, beginning his career at the bank in 2002 as a check processing clerk.

Cross insurance acquired Maine Insurance Agency of Portland, a fifth generation family business. Cross Insurance, which was founded in 1954, has grown significantly through the acquisition of over 120 insurance agencies throughout the North East. The company now has 1,000 employees operating from offices in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York and Florida.

The Maine Natural Resources Council announced four new members to its board of directors.
sat day, from Dresden, owns a small construction company specializing in energy-efficient renovations and new construction. He also served on the Maine Rivers Board of Directors.
Anthony Eamesof South Freeport, is managing director of responsible investment strategy for Calvert Research and Management, a subsidiary of Morgan Stanley Investment Management.
Diana McDowellde Lamoine, is an artist from the Mount Desert Island area who worked for the Friends of Acadie as Director of Finance and Administration for two decades.
David Schyllingof Pemaquid Peninsula, partnered with his brother to create one of the country’s leading specialty toy brands, Schylling Toys, where he pushed for sustainable production throughout their global supply chain.

Pete Harrington

Pete Harrington, Partner and Associate Broker at Malone Commercial Brokers, received the Maine Commercial Association’s 2022 Realtor of the Year award. Harrington has been a leading expert in commercial property rentals and sales in the Greater Portland area since 1996.

Betsy Richards

Betsy Richards joined the Abbe Museum as Managing Director and Senior Partner of Wabanaki Nations. For the past decade, Richards has led The Opportunity Agenda’s national cultural strategy initiatives with artists, influencers and advocates to shift narrative, culture and politics towards greater economic and racial justice.
