Gekko Systems executes construction contract with Group 6 Metals

Gekko Systems has executed a construction contract with Group 6 Metals Ltd for the design, procurement, construction and commissioning of the processing plant and related facilities for the redevelopment of the 100% owned Dolphin mine. G6M, located on King Island.

The contract, worth approximately US $ 49 million, provides for the facility to be commissioned in the first calendar quarter of 2023. Based on this schedule, the first shipment of ore from the Dolphin mine to customers will have also take place during 1Q23.

Gekko has engaged with G6M for the past three years and together they formulated the schematic diagram which was developed after extensive independent testing at the ALS lab undertaken on behalf of G6M in Burnie, Tasmania.

After contract execution, G6M is expected to start earthworks early in 1Q22, in preparation for civil works starting shortly thereafter.
