A very exciting ongoing project that Don is working on is a ‘pre-engineered’ concept for the replacement of the HVAC in our main OR, the aim is to minimize downtime and maximize revenue generation during installation. Finally, building a strong and cohesive team of engineers has also been a priority to ensure that we provide the best possible service to our patients and colleagues. For the past 5 years, Don has served on the Indiana Society of Healthcare Engineers (ISHE) Board of Directors in various capacities, currently serving as Past President and ASHE Liaison. In 2020 received the “Engineer of the Year” award from ISHE, and in 2022 was honored to receive the “MAX” award. This award recognizes the recipient’s dedication to ISHE and healthcare engineering. Prior to assuming the position of President, he was Chairman of the Midwest Healthcare Engineering Conference Committee for 2 years.

When it comes to interests and hobbies, it can be boiled down to “everything outdoors.” Don enjoys running, golf, pickleball, hiking and hunting. For the past 6 years, Don has also refereed high school basketball to stay connected to the game he has truly enjoyed playing for many years.
