LYNN HAVEN, Fla. (WMBB) — Construction has begun on the Lynn Haven Sports Complex. Lynn Haven officials expect all five baseball and multi-purpose fields to be completed in early spring 2023.
They also expect the gymnasium to be completed in December 2023.
“We anticipate, at least for the baseball game to be in the early spring and for the gymnasium, we expect it to be finished in December and handed over to the city in January,” Lynn Haven, director of parks and Ty lands said Farris.
Lynn Haven has two contracts in place for the fields and the gymnasium. The gymnasium will be the first municipality in Bay County with a two-court gymnasium.
“It’s going to be huge for the community,” Farris said. “Right now Kinsaul Park is where all of our football teams, you know, our flag football league plays and once we have those three fields it’s going to be wide open. Same thing with the gym.
However, there have been some construction delays.
“The biggest backlog right now has been the supply chain,” Farris said. “I just spoke to the site contractor today and we are eight to ten weeks away on the simpler things like water pipes, storm water pipes.”
The multipurpose rooms will be used for soccer, lacrosse and football.
