The Office of Economic Research and Development would like to invite you to attend the following virtual seminar as part of the ORED Fall 2021 Seminar Series:
RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT WITH ERDCWERX: OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE ACADEMY
Thursday 23 September 2021
10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
ERDCWERX is a regional innovation center that supports the U.S. Army Engineering Research and Development Center (ERDC) by helping to identify new partnerships for innovation and commercialization and promote pathways to project success. . Opportunities exist within a network of WERX affiliates to support defense-related research priorities by driving technologies faster and more efficiently to meet combatant needs, identify new solution providers and collaboration opportunities , facilitate technology transfer and create new business environments. ERDCWERX provides a number of tools and resources, among which the ability to leverage the capabilities of researchers, entrepreneurs and companies to advance the development, evaluation, efficiency and deployment of new technologies to solve complex problems.
As we anticipate more funding opportunities through the ERDC, including more funding for civil engineering R&D, it is important to know more about how these two entities are connected and the means involvement of our professors and researchers. Mr. Paul Sumrall and Dr. Julie Jordan will facilitate a fireside discussion on the mission and objectives of ERDCWERX and the opportunities for MSU. This includes areas of interest and target initiatives, research and development support mechanisms, and processes by which researchers can engage with the group to identify capacities and build partnerships.
There will be time at the end of the session for questions, but if you have any questions that you would like to send to us in advance to make sure Dr Jordan and Mr Sumrall are addressing during the discussion, please email them to Stéphanie. Hyche, [email protected]
